What a website actually costs
Most agencies will not tell you until you are on a call. Here are our real starting prices, what moves them, and what is included, so you can decide whether a conversation makes sense before booking one.
Our prices, plainly
Every project is quoted individually, but these are the starting prices for the project types described below. We will not push a straightforward project into a larger tier it does not need.
Starter website
A clean, fast website of up to five pages, ready to launch.
- Up to five pages, designed not templated
- Mobile-first build and testing
- Contact form and Google Business Profile setup
- Basic SEO: titles, descriptions, structured data
Good for: A new business, or an established one whose current site is dated and does not need to be complicated.
Business website
A site with up to ten pages and a CMS so you can easily publish and update your website.
- Everything in the starter site up to ten pages
- A proper CMS for pages you update often
- Blog, guides, or case studies
- Integrations for booking, CRM, and email marketing
- Deeper SEO foundations and clear business information
- Training so you can handle text and image changes
Good for: Businesses that publish regularly, have several services to explain, or need the site connected to other software.
Larger website
A larger website of up to twenty pages with room for more content and complexity.
- Everything in the business website up to twenty pages
- A structured CMS for content your team updates
- More detailed service, program, or location content
- Content migration and redirects where required
- Integrations with the systems your organization uses
- Training and documentation for your team
Good for: Organizations with more services, programs, locations, audiences, or existing content to organize and migrate.
E-commerce
An online store connected to how you actually take payments.
- Store setup on the platform that fits your business
- Payments, shipping rules, and tax configuration
- Product and inventory setup
- Point-of-sale integration where you already use one
- Training for whoever runs it day to day
Good for: Restaurants adding online ordering, retailers moving online, and anyone selling more than a handful of products.
Custom software & AI
Portals, integrations, internal tools, and AI agents, scoped per project.
- Discovery to define exactly what gets built
- Custom application or agent development
- Integration with systems you already run
- Documentation and handover
Good for: Businesses where a manual process has outgrown a spreadsheet, or where the same questions are eating hours every week.
Care & hosting
Hosting, monitoring, backups, and someone to call.
- Fast, monitored hosting
- Backups and uptime checks
- Small content changes
- A person who answers when something breaks
Good for: Anyone who would rather not think about their website until they want something changed.
SEO & marketing
Ongoing search, content, and email work.
- Google Business Profile and local search work
- Technical SEO and content
- AEO review for crawl access, clear facts, and consistency
- Email marketing and reporting on inquiries, not just traffic
Good for: Businesses whose website is built and now needs to be found. Usually worth starting after launch, not before.
Page count provides a useful baseline, but content development, migrations, integrations, e-commerce, and custom functionality can affect the final scope and price.
Prices are in US dollars and exclude third-party costs you would pay regardless: domain registration, platform subscriptions, stock photography, and payment processing fees. We will list those separately in your proposal so you can see the full running cost, not just ours.
Why two websites can cost very differently
These six things account for nearly all the variation. Knowing them lets you shape the project around your budget rather than the other way round.
How many pages
The clearest driver. A five-page site is a different job from a thirty-page one, and most businesses need fewer pages than they first assume.
Who writes the content
If you supply the words and images, the project is faster and cheaper. If we write them, that is real work and it is priced in. Either is fine. Deciding early is what matters.
Custom functionality
Booking systems, member logins, calculators, integrations with software you already run. Anything that has to do something rather than show something.
Migrating existing content
Moving a hundred blog posts, preserving important URLs, mapping redirects, and checking the result is significant work. Starting fresh with ten pages is not.
E-commerce complexity
Twenty products with one option each is straightforward. Hundreds with variants, shipping rules, and inventory sync is not.
How fast you need it
Normal timelines cost normal money. A hard deadline that means reordering other work costs more, and we will say so rather than quietly missing it.
What every project comes with
These are not upsells. They are what we consider the minimum for a website worth paying for.
- ✓ A fixed price agreed before any work starts
- ✓ Design and build, tested on real phones and tablets
- ✓ Responsive layouts designed for phones, tablets, and desktop screens
- ✓ SEO foundations: titles, descriptions, structured data, speed
- ✓ Clear, crawlable content and accurate business information
- ✓ Google Business Profile setup or review when relevant
- ✓ Training so you can manage what you should manage
- ✓ Ownership of your domain, content, and accounts
These foundations support ordinary search visibility. Ongoing SEO and separate Answer Engine Optimization are scoped according to the business rather than presented as automatic launch outcomes.
An outstanding Web Design company. We were looking for a company to help us migrate our website from Wix to Square’s online store site. MIS was recommended to us and when we contacted them, they understood the issues and elements that we were trying to incorporate in the new site. Karim Ardalan listened very carefully and designed a perfect plan to tackle all the issues. He delivered on time and flawlessly. His quote for the project was one of the most reasonable ones that we had received. Even though we added more elements to the project, they kept the original quote for the final invoice. All in all, I would give them 6 stars, if I could!
How to spend less, honestly
Write your own content. This is one of the clearest ways to reduce cost. Nobody knows your business better, and a rough draft we edit costs far less than us starting from nothing.
Start smaller. Launch the five pages that matter and add the rest once the site is earning. A smaller site that exists beats a bigger one still being written.
Use your own photographs. Real photographs of your premises, team, and work are often more useful and specific than stock imagery.
Skip functionality you are not sure about. Booking systems and member areas are easy to want and expensive to build. Add them when you know you need them.
Fix rather than rebuild, if that is the honest answer. Sometimes a few hours of repair does what a rebuild would. We will tell you when that is the case, even though it is a smaller invoice for us.
About pricing
How much does a website cost in Albuquerque?
Our website projects start at $5,000 for up to five pages, $8,500 for a business website of up to ten pages, and $15,000 for a larger website of up to twenty pages. E-commerce starts at $8,500, and custom software and AI work starts at $9,500. Page count provides a useful baseline, but content development, migrations, integrations, e-commerce, and custom functionality can affect the final scope and price.
Do you charge hourly or a fixed price?
We use a fixed price for the agreed scope. If we underestimate the work already included, that is our responsibility. If you ask to add something outside the scope, we explain the additional cost and get approval before doing it. There should be no surprise invoice.
Are there ongoing costs?
Hosting and care starts at $50 a month, which covers hosting, monitoring, backups, and small content changes. Marketing and SEO work is separate, starting at $500 a month. Our care plan is optional, although platform subscriptions and third-party services may still be required depending on how the site is built.
What if my budget is below your starting price?
Tell us anyway. Sometimes the right answer is a smaller first phase, and sometimes it is that a template service will genuinely serve you better for now, and we will say so. What we will not do is quietly cut corners to hit a number.
Do you offer payment plans?
Projects are normally split across milestones rather than paid up front, so the cost spreads across the build. Talk to us about what works for your cash flow.
Do nonprofits get different pricing?
Tell us about your budget when you get in touch. A good portion of our work is with New Mexico nonprofits, and we would rather scope a project to fit what you have than quote something out of reach.
Get a real number for your project
Tell us what you need and we will give you a fixed price, not a range. The consultation is free and you will get honest recommendations either way, including if the answer is that you need less than you thought.
Ready to talk numbers?
A short call, a clear scope, and a fixed price before anything starts.
