Website migration

Weebly to Webflow

A planned rebuild for Weebly sites that face a regional deadline, need more capable tools, or no longer fit the organization maintaining them.

Weebly to Webflow

Begin with the account and its location

The current status of Weebly is not the same everywhere. Weebly has announced that service will wind down in 67 countries during 2026. Its current US guidance separately says there are no plans to discontinue the website builder, while encouraging new sites to use Square Online.

Weebly Cloud adds another layer because it was sold to agencies for managing client sites. Before recommending anything, we confirm which product holds the site, where the account is based, and which service terms apply.

When moving makes sense

A migration is justified when:

  • The account is affected by an announced service deadline
  • The site needs a redesign or content structure that Weebly does not handle well
  • Required integrations no longer fit
  • The organization wants a CMS for repeated content such as services, locations, people, or projects
  • Agency access, support, or long-term maintenance has become uncertain

If a US site is stable, inexpensive, and still supports the organization’s needs, staying may be the better use of the budget. We do not recommend rebuilding solely to replace a platform name.

Choosing where to move

Webflow is a strong fit when design flexibility, structured content, and client editing matter. It provides managed hosting and a visual CMS without requiring a plugin stack.

Square Online may be the better destination for a restaurant or retailer already using Square in person. In that case, shared catalog, ordering, inventory, and payment operations may matter more than Webflow’s design control.

A custom build may also fit when portability, performance, or specialized development requirements outweigh the need for in-browser editing. Our website development service explains that option.

What the migration involves

Weebly does not provide a portable working site that can simply be opened in Webflow. The design and templates are rebuilt. Available exports, account downloads, and manual review help create the inventory, but the exact source material depends on the account and features in use.

We account for pages, blog posts, images, documents, forms, store or member features, metadata, analytics, domains, and outside integrations. Content is preserved where it remains useful and reorganized when that is part of the reason for moving.

Established URLs are kept when practical. Changed pages receive permanent redirects to relevant destinations, and retired content is handled deliberately rather than sent to the homepage. Forms and integrations are tested before launch, followed by indexing and error monitoring after the new site is live.

Most Weebly-to-Webflow projects take three to five weeks. Account access, content volume, ecommerce, and how much the design changes can extend that timeline.

What happens next

Tell us whether the site uses Weebly or Weebly Cloud, where the account is based, and what is no longer working. We will explain whether a move is urgent, optional, or unnecessary.
